The Winners of the Arab Starpack International Arab Competition

In a large celebration organized by the Lebanese Centre for Packaging LibanPack, headed by Soha Atallah, Deputy Director of the International Packaging Organization, the students of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts - Faculty of Arts and Design were honoured as the winners of the Arab Star Pack International Arab Competition in its sixth edition.

 

The ARAB STARPACK competition is an Arab regional competition specialized in the field of sustainable packaging design. 833 students from nine Arab countries participated in it. The competition went through several stages in which 57 students won the final prizes for the competition in three areas: visual design for packaging, structural design, and preservation. Saving the Food.

 

Our students from the College of Arts and Design, Department of Graphics and Media Arts, participated in the competition for the third year in a row, under the auspices of Prof. Dr Tarek Saleh - Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, and the students continued to win awards for the second year in a row, as the student Toqa Islam Abd El Khaleq won first place on The level of the Arab countries in the Pan Arab Award competition in the field of saving the food, which is a distinguished award that is presented to one student only in each of the three areas of the competition at the level of the participating countries.

 

At the level of Egypt, four Egyptian Universities participated, and the October University of Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) topped the Egyptian universities by obtaining six awards out of 13 awards, which are as follows:

 

Save the Food Category:

  • Student Toqa Islam Abd E; Khaleq won the first place.
  • Student Dina Osama Muhammad Sobhi won the third place.

 

Visual Packaging Category:

  • Student Nada Ayman Al-Sayed Muhammad Labib Al-Bouhi won the first place.
  • Student Rana Khaled Abdel Moneim Riyad Zaidan won the third place.
  • The student Nada Hatem Atwa Sayed Ahmed won the third place, repeated.

 

Structural Packaging Category:

  • The student Mahmoud Muhammad Othman won the third place.

 

Congratulations to all the winners and participants in the competition, and all thanks and appreciation to the work team consisting of Dr Ahmed Attia, assistant teacher Amira Sabry, and both teaching assistants Nisreen Heikal and Nada Amin.

 

The ceremony was sponsored and attended by Mr. Pierre Pinard, President of the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and the Egyptian Chamber of Printing and Packaging Industries, represented by the President of the Chamber, Eng. Nadim Elias, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO in Egypt (UNIDO), represented by Eng. Ahmed Rizk, Deputy Head of the Regional Office in Egypt and the Swedish Cooperation Agency. International Development Association (SIDA) and in the presence of Mr. Hokan Imsjord, Ambassador of Sweden to Egypt.
