Sustainable Packaging Design Exhibition: MSA Students' Solutions for a Better Future

 

The Graphic and Media Arts Department at the Faculty of Arts and Design organized an exhibition showcasing the works of students in the field of sustainable packaging design. The students present a diverse and fresh range of ideas and concepts in packaging design for various product sectors. The exhibition was inaugurated by Professor Khairy Abdel Hamid, the university president, in the presence of the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Professor Tarek Saleh, the head of the department, Professor Eman Osama, and Dr. Ahmed Atiya, who teaches packaging design course.

 

The exhibition features fifty diverse projects in sustainable packaging design, covering different areas in the packaging industry such as food, pharmaceuticals, children's toys, cosmetics, and fast food. The students have addressed the core sectors in sustainable packaging design, including graphic design inspired by ancient Egyptian heritage and various Egyptian civilizations, in addition to modern design and structural design of packaging using modern eco-friendly materials. The students present innovative solutions in the preservation of food and the reduction of waste in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and more.

 

The students have also presented new and innovative solutions using the latest technologies in the packaging industry and utilizing all environmentally friendly materials. They have employed various strategies such as recycling, reuse, refillability, waste reduction, and ease of use. Multiple strategies have been integrated to provide diverse solutions and ensure their practical implementation.

 

The university president and the dean of the faculty have discussed the project concepts with each student to clarify the final product of the project and its construction through specific production stages, starting from the idea and reaching the final execution, as well as the method of presenting ideas and concepts.
