The Seed Processing Station

As part of the practical and field training for students of the Faculty of Biotechnology, MSA University, students enrolled in the (Host Plant Resistance) course visited the “Seed Processing Station” of Fine Seed International company in Sadat city.

 

During the visit, the students learned about the different methods used in preparing seeds of field crops and vegetables for cultivation , whether manual or mechanical, which include drying, sorting, threshing, cleaning, seizing, gravitational sieving, pesticide treatment and automatic packing.

 

This is in addition to learning about the different methods of laboratory testing of seeds to ensure their quality and suitability for germination and tolerance of different weather conditions.
