Journalism Graduation Projects - spring 2021

MSA University would like to extend its heartiest congratulations for the students of the Journalism department at the Faculty of Mass Communication for successfully discussing their graduation projects. Our students managed to execute two outstanding magazines; the first entitled ‘ABLAZE’, which is a magazine that aims to be a fresh alternative to typical women’s magazines, represents women who are overlooked in mainstream media and be part of the changing narrative of the feminism in Egypt. This project mainly serves the fifth goal of SDGs which focuses on achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.

The second magazine is ‘New Wave’, which is a magazine that aims to giving a voice to Egyptian teens and young adults, through various out of-the-box engaging features and articles that both enlighten, and support their development. The SDGs were kept in mind throughout the magazine with an emphasis on SDG 3 “Good health and well-being” & SDG 8 “Decent work and economic growth”, particularly because the UN has had a recent focus on youth’s role in achieving these goals.

We were honored that the students discussed their magazines topics as well as their ideas and future career plans with two distinguished panelists; Professor Inas Abou Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Al Ahram Canadian University, and Heba Helmy, Editor-in-Chief of Egypt Independent.

MSA University wishes nothing but the best for its students and graduates.
