The projects included ones in the field of environmental biotechnology such as our student “Rana Maen” who presented a project that focused on use of industrial wastes specifically lemon peels for the generation of biodegradable plastics. Another student “Mohamed Ashraf” presented his project in the field of medical biotechnology which focused on using liposomes as delivery vehicles for the treatment of glioblastoma. Many students focused on food biotechnology such “Alaa Eldien Tarek” with the idea of supplementing yogurt with nutritional supplements to improve digestion. Another projects included ones in the field of pharmaceutical biotechnology such as our student “Amr Ahmed” with a project proposing the use of nanoparticles for the treatment of dental decay. It is worthy to note that the poster session is one of many requirements for the course and it is a yearly tradition that is usually the highlight where all students get to reap the fruits of their labor.
