October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) would like to congratulate Basma Magdy, a graduate of the Faculty of Mass Communication (Broadcasting Department) as her documentary film and her graduation project “Omm Sety” won the Best Documentary Short Film Award at the International Retro Avant garde Film Festival in Cairo. This is the first award the documentary has received after participating in a number of international and local festivals.

 

The documentary tells a story of the reincarnation of a foreign woman with an Egyptian priestess from the 19th dynasty in the Temple of Abydos - in Sohag Governorate, which was the reason for the fame of this place and it became one of the most important tourist attractions in Egypt, and a large number of foreign countries went to visit this temple.

 

The documentary is a graduation project, awarded with distinction, under the supervision of Dr. Noha Samir Mahgoub and Mr. Loay Fahmy, Faculty members at the Faculty of Mass Communication.

 

Congratulations Basma Magdy and we wish all the students and graduates of MSA University continued success, and excellence.
