Career Prospectus

As a graduate of this programme you will expand your career options in competitive fields, including advertising, book editing/publishing, freelance writing. You will find vocational opportunities in the media, film industry, public education, arts and leisure management, journalism and areas of interactive media technology.

Certificate in Mass Communication

Students follow a generalized programme of study over 4 years depending on the mode of study.

Teaching/ Learning Methods

Acquisition of the knowledge and the cognitive, practical, and graduate skills is primarily through lectures, class discussions, and additional suggested readings from books and journals.
Moreover, tutorial classes enhance learning through assignments, case studies, and learning from peers. In addition, research and presentation skills are addressed through independent learning, research papers, individual and group projects, and a graduation project held in the last year of study.

All modules make use of applications of computers in the field of Mass Communication. These up-to-date technologies are introduced to students throughout a four-year programme. These modules will help students surf the vibrant and exciting wave of technological development taking place worldwide especially in the field of mass communication.

Assessment


Coursework and two unseen written examinations (held at the middle and the end of each semester).

Graduation project is subject oral discussions before a committee of external examiners.
