Years of Study
Two 4-year programmes leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science are available for students to choose from:
- BSc Computer Science
- BSc Computer Science (Software Engineering)
In both programmes students build a solid background in areas such as programming and software development, database design and applications, systems analysis and design methodologies.
MSA Faculty of Computer Science is equipped with the most up-to-date lab facilities and latest software. MSA has 24 computer labs, 2 physics labs, in addition The Faculty of CS has a hardware lab equipped with all required electronic components is available to buildup and test digital circuits. The Faculty of CS also shares a microprocessor lab with the faculty of Engineering.
The computer laboratories are fully internet friendly. Students  Â
can log on to their accounts from their homes, where they can
have access to their modules websites. MSA always maintains
excellent computing environment to all students with all the  Â
necessary software and professional staff.
The Computer Science library has a total of 982 original copies for students’ use. MSA is in the process of enriching the Computer Science Library with technical journals in the field, in addition, up-to-date book titles covering the multidisciplinary field of Computer Science.
In addition, online subscription to www.questia.com and EBSCOHOST is available for all staff members and students. The university also submits original textbooks to the students.
The programmes cover the following general subjects:
- English Language: 3 courses, 12 credit hours
- Mathematics: 5 courses, 15 credit hours
- Physics: 3 courses, 9 credit hours
- Humanities: 3 courses, 9 credit hours
- Computer Science: 31 courses, 94 credit hours
Students must complete a total of 142 credit hours to receive one of the above degrees.
